THIRD ANTIPHON: Psalm 94
1:  Come, let us sing joyfully to the Lord; let us shout with joy to God our Savior.
O Son of God, who are risen from the dead, save us who sing to You, Alleluia
2:  Let us come into His presence with thanksgiving and let us joyfully sing psalms to Him.
Khallisna Ya-Bnallah, Ya Man qama min baynil-amwaat, nahnu muranneemeena Laka.  Haleloueya.
3:  For God is a great Lord and a great King over all the earth.
O Son of God, who are risen from the dead, save us who sing to You, Alleluia.
Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit… O Only-begotten Son…


الانديفونة الثالثة ( من المزمور 94)
- هَلُمُّوا نَبْتَهِجُ بِالرَّبِ، وَنُهَلِّلُ للهِ مُخَلِّصُنا، وَنُهَلِّلُ لِلَّهِ مُخَلِّصُنَا. 
خَلِّصنا يا ابنَ الله، يا من قامَ مِن بَينِ الأموات، نَحْنُ المُرَنِمينَ لَكَ هَللويا.
- لِنُبَادِر إلى وَجْهِهِ بِالإعْتِرافِ وبِالمَزامِير نُهَلِّلُ لَهُ، فَإنَّ الربَّ إلهٌ عظيمٌّ وَمَلِكٌ عَظِيمٌ على الأرضِ كُلَّها.
- لِأَنَّ بِيَدِهِ أَقْطارَ الأَرْضِ وَلَهُ قِمَمُ الجِبَالِ لأنَّ البحرَ لَهُ وَهُوَ صَنَعَهُ وَيَداهُ جَبَلتا اليابِسَة.

The women disciples of the Lord, having learned from the angel the joyful announcement of the resurrection, and having rejected the ancestral sentence, proudly told the apostles: Death is despoiled. Christ God is risen, bestowing to the world great mercy.”


نشيد القيامة باللحن الرابع

إن تلميذات الرب تعلمنَ من الملاكِ بشرى القيامةِ البهيجة.  ونبذنَ القضاءَ على الجدين، وقلن للرسلِ مفتخراتٍ: لقد سُلب الموت، ونهض المسيحُ الاله، واهباً للعالمِ عظيمَ الرحمة.

 

                                                                                   

Troparion of the Patron of the Church: The grace that shines forth from your mouth like a torch has enlightened the universe, bestowed treasures of generosity upon the world, and shown us the eminence of humility. While you teach us by your words, Father John Chrysostom, pray to the Word Christ our God, that He may save our souls!

 

النشيد لشفيع الكنيسة: لقد سَطَعَتْ نعمةُ فمِكَ كمصباحْ، فأنارَتِ المسكونة، ووضَعَتْ في العالم كُنوزَ الزُهْدِ في حُبِ المالْ، وأظهَرَتْ لنا سُموَّ الاتِضاع، فيا أيُّها الأبُ المؤدِبُ في أقوالِكَ يوحنا الذهبيُّ الفم، اشفَعْ إلى الكلمةِ المسيحِ الإلهْ في خلاصِ نفوسِنا.

 

Troparion of St Barbara: Let us praise the most venerable Barbara, who pierced the enemy's net and, like a trapped ostrich, escaped from it through the strength-giving weapon of the cross.

لنُكرِّمنَّ القديسةَ بربارة، فقد كسرت هذه الجزيلة الوقار فخاخ العدو، ونجت منها كالعصفور بمعونة الصليب وسلاحه 

 Kontakion:

O never failing Protectress of Christians and their ever-present intercessor before the Creator, despise not the petitions of us sinners, but in your goodness extend your help to us who call upon you with confidence.  Hasten, O Mother of God, to intercede for us, for you have always protected those who honor you.

يا نصيرةَ المسيحيينَ التي لا تُخزى، ووسيطتَهم الدائمةَ لدى الخالق، لا تعرضي عن أصواتِ الخطأة الطالبين اليكِ. بل بما انكِ صالحة، بادري الى معونتنا، نحن الصارخينَ اليكِ بإيمان: هلمي الى الشفاعة، وأسرعي الى الابتهال، يا والدةَ الالهِ المحاميةَ دائماً عن مكرميكِ.

EPISTLE of the 21st. Sunday after Pentecost Gal. 2: 16-20

 

PROKIMENON (Tone 4)

How great are your works, 0 Lord! In wisdom You have wrought them all.

Stichon: Bless the Lord, 0 my soul! You are very great indeed, 0 Lord my God!

 

READING from the Epistle of St. Paul to the Galatians: 2: 16-20

BRETHREN, we know man is not justified by the works of the Law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. Hence, we also believe in Christ Jesus, that we may be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the Law, because by the works of the Law no man will be justified. But if, while we are seeking to be justified in Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is Christ therefore the minister of sin? By no means. For if I rebuild the things I destroyed, I make myself a sinner. For through the Law, I have died to the Law that I may live for God. With Christ I am nailed to the cross. It is now no longer I who live, but Christ is living in me. And the life I now live in the flesh, I live within the faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself up for me.

 

ALLELUIA (Tone 4)

String your bow, go forth, reign for the sake of truth, meekness and righteousness, and your right hand shall lead You wonderfully.

الاحد الحادي والعشرون بعد العنصرة

مقدمة الرسالة

 ما أعظمَ أَعمالَك ياربّ، لقد صنعتَ جميعَها بحكمة

باركي يا نفسيَ الربّ، أَيها الربُّ إِلهي لقد عَظُمْتَ جداً

 

الرسالة (غلاطية 2: 16-21)

يا إِخوة، لعلمِنا بأَنَّ الانسانَ لا يُبَرَّرُ بأَعمالِ الناموس، بل انَّما بالإيمان بيسوعَ المسيح، نحنُ أَيضاً آمنَّا بالمسيحٍ يسوع لكي نُبَرَّرَ بالإيمان بالمسيحِ لا بأَعمالِ الناموس. اذ لن يُبَرَّرَ بأعمالِ الناموسِ أَحدٌ من ذوي الجسد. فإِنْ كنَّا ونحنُ طالبونَ التبريرَ في المسيح نوَجدُ نحنُ أَيضاً خطأَة، أَفيكونُ المسيحُ خادماً للخطيئة؟ حاشى. فإِن عدتُ أَبني ما قد هدَمْتُ، جعلتُ نفسي متعدّياً. لأني بالناموسِ مُتُ للناموس لكي أَحيا لله. أنى مصلوبٌ مع المسيح وأَنا حيٌّ لا أَنا بعدُ، انما المسيحُ حيٌ فيَّ. وما أَحياهُ الآنَ في الجسد، انَّما أحياهُ في الايمانِ بابنِ اللهِ, الذي أَحبَّني وبذَلَ نفسَه عنّي. 

 

هللويا

استلَّ وسرْ الى الامام، واملكْ في سبيلٍ الحقِّ والدِّعَةٍ والبِرّ، فتهديك َ يمينُك هدياً عجيباً

أَحببتَ البرَّ وأَبغضتَ الإِثم، لذلك مسحَك اللهُ بدهنِ البهجةِ أَفضلَ من شركائِك.

 

GOSPEL of the 5th Sunday of Holy Cross, Luke 16: 19-31

(The Rich Man & Lazarus)

At that time, the Lord told this parable; “there was certain rich man who used to clothe himself in purple and fine linen, and who feasted every day in splendid fashion.  And there was certain poor man, named Lazarus, who lay at his gate, covered with sores, and longing to be filled with the crumbs that fell from the rich man’s table; even the dogs would come and lick his sores.  And it came to pass that the poor man died and was borne away by the angels into Abraham’s bosom; but the rich man also died and was buried in hell.  And lifting up his eyes, being in torments, he saw Abraham far off and Lazarus in his bosom.  And he cried out and said, ‘Father Abraham have pity on me, and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am tormented in this flame.’ But Abraham said to him, ‘Son, remember you in your lifetime have received your good things, and Lazarus in like manner evil things; but now here he is comforted whereas you are tormented.  And besides all that, between us and you a great gulf is fixed, so that those who wish to pass over from this side to you cannot, and they cannot cross from your side to us.’ And he said, ‘Then, father, I pray you to send him to my father’s house, for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they too come into this place of torments.’  And Abraham said to him, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’ But he answered, ‘No father Abraham, but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’ But he said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not believe even if someone rises from the dead.”

 

الاحد الخامس بعد الصليب

(لوقا 16: 19-31)

في ذلك الزمان، كان انسانٌ غنيٌ يَلبَسُ الارجوانَ والبزّ، ويتنعَّمُ كلَّ يوم تَنعُّماً فاخراً. وكان مِسكينٌ اسمهُ لعازر مطروحاً عند بابهِ مصاباً بالقُروح. وكان يشتهي أَن يشبَعَ منَ الفُتاتِ الذي يسقُطُ من مائدةِ الغنيّ، ولم يُعطِهِ أَحد، بل كانتِ الكلابُ أيضاً تأتي وتلحَسُ قروحَه. ثم ماتَ المِسكين، فنقَلتْهُ الملائكةُ الى حضنِ ابراهيم. وماتَ الغنيُّ ايضاً ودُفن. فرفعَ عينيهِ وهو في الجحيمِ في العذابات، فرأى ابراهيمَ من بعيدٍ ولعازرَ في احضانهِ. فنادى قائلاً: يا أَبتِ ابراهيمُ ارحَمني، وأَرسلْ لعازرَ ليَغمسَ في الماءِ طرفَ إصبعه ويُبرّدَ لساني، لأَني مُعذبٌ في هذا اللهيب. فقال ابراهيم: تَذكَّر يا ابني أَنكَ نلتَ خيراتكَ في حياتِكَ، ولعازرَ كذلك بلاياه. والآنَ فهو يَتعزَّى وأَنتَ تتعذَّب. وفوقَ هذا كلّه فبينَنا وبينكم هُوَّةٌ عظيمةٌ قد أُثبِتَتْ، حتى إن الذينَ يريدونَ ان يجتازوا من هُنا إِليكم لا يستطيعون، ولا الذينَ هُناكَ أن يَعبُرُوا إِلينا. فقال: أَسألُكَ إذَن يا أَبتِ أن تُرسلهُ الى بيتِ أَبي. فإِنَّ لي خمسةَ اخوَةٍ حتى يَشهَدَ لهم، لكيلا يأتوا هُم ايضاً إِلى مَوضِعِ العذابِ هذا.  فقال له إبراهيم: انَّ عندهم مُوسى والأَنبياء، فلْيَسمَعوا منهم.  قال: لا يا أَبتِ ابراهيم، بلْ إذا مضى إليهم واحدٌ من الامواتِ يَتُوبون.  فقال له: إِنْ لم يَسمعوا من موسى والأَنبياء، فإِنهم ولا إِنْ قامَ واحدٌ من الأَموات يقَتَنعون.

 

HIRMOS: It is truly right to call you blessed O Theotokos…

 

KINONIKON: Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens; praise him in the heights. Alleluia! (Psalms 148:1)

 

POST-COMMUNION: We have seen the True Light, ...
